The Folly is luxurious self catering or bed and breakfast accommodation by an Exmoor trout stream. Attached on one side to Bratton Mill, set in a 28 acre, secluded wooded valley rich with wildlife – red deer, buzzards, the flash of the kingfisher, conferences of dragonflies and occasionally the otter and stoat. A group of friendly ducks might beg the odd crust. |

The Folly is entirely private and enjoys its own extensive waterside gardens. The terrace, 3 strides from the trout stream, has a table, chairs and sun loungers. You will only hear birdsong, the sound of the stream and the distant bleating of sheep. Mobile ‘phones have no reception! |

Large glazed double doors open into unique open plan accommodation, beautifully furnished with antiques and designer fabrics including a magnificent George 11, 5ft, four poster bed as the centrepiece, a Georgian chandelier, a circular table and chairs, and a very comfortable sofa. Television, DVD, CD, radio are all discreetly hidden. The bathroom has a double ended roll top bath with small tables at either end for your champagne glasses, a Victorian chandelier with dimmer, a circular blue and white porcelain Georgian washstand (plumbed in!) with double handed pitcher beneath and there is a loo too! The fully equipped home-from-home studio kitchen includes a ceramic hob, combined oven, microwave and grill, larder fridge, ice maker and beautiful china, glass and cutlery. |

Enjoying riverside strolls or circular walks through outstanding countryside from the front door, The Folly at Bratton Mill is set on the western edge of the Exmoor National Park, 8 miles east of Barnstaple and within close walking distance of the village of Bratton Fleming with The White Hart Inn, Village Store, Post Office, garage workshop and 2 churches. It is close to the dramatic North Devon coast with beautiful sandy beaches and towering cliffs, the South West Coastal Path. RHS Rosemoor and Marwood Gardens, Arlington Court, Clovelly and Hartland Abbey are within comfortable driving distance. There are many charming village pubs and restaurants to explore. The White Hart Inn in Bratton Fleming, The Fox & Goose at Parracombe and The Poltimore Inn at Yarde Down are particularly recommended. Flowers, beautiful bed linen, large fluffy towels, bathrobes, toiletries are all included. |
